Factory2Fit project coordinator VTT is a state owned and controlled non-profit limited liability company operating under the ownership steering of the Finnish Ministry of Employment and the Economy. As one of Europe’s leading Research and Technology Organisation (RTO), its mission is to support economic competitiveness, societal development and innovation. VTT is committed to carrying out research and innovation activities for the needs of industry and a knowledge-based society. VTT is organised around three main areas:

Within Horizon 2020, VTT is particularly focused on the renewal of European industrial value chains and the strengthening of dynamic ecosystems that address Societal Challenges.
VTT will provide project coordination for Factory2Fit, using its infrastructure, experience and skills to guide the project. On the research side, VTT’s multidisciplinary Factory2Fit team includes expertise on human factors of industrial systems, knowledge sharing, training and co-design as well as digital health.
VTT has vast experience of EU projects. In 2015, VTT was involved in 359 EU-funded research projects. VTT has staff of 2,192 highly educated personnel. In 2015, VTT’s net turnover was €158 million and other operational incomes were €93 million.
