Factory2Fit consortium meeting held in Finland on 7-8 March

The Factory2Fit partners gathered for an insightful two-day consortium meeting in Espoo, Finland on 7th and 8th March 2017. The meeting was hosted by project coordinator VTT and attended by 27 members representing all 9 partner organisations.

The meeting focused on discussions around the ongoing and upcoming activities, project progress and results to date.

The industrial partners (Continental, Prima Power and UTRC-I) described a wide range of expectations for adaptation and use cases, and IT solutions expert Amorph Systems provided a comprehensive overview of the enabling technologies for the project. VTT, TUC and UTRC-I presented the results of a number of user studies based on focus groups and workshops organised in early 2017. CERTH introduced the first version of the Factory2Fit adaptation architecture and explained the rationale behind the key concepts involved. CERTH also provided an overview of the ongoing activities related to the methods and tools for continuous adaptation of the manufacturing process. TUC updated the partners on the current status of the work involving quantified self-measures, monitoring and worker modelling. Visual Components showcased their state-of-the-art manufacturing simulation software to be used in the project and Carr Communications held a planning session on communications.

Both days included interactive and engaging workshops where all partners had a chance to participate in the shaping of the Factory2Fit concepts, the user model and the dissemination planning.

The close collaboration between all partners will continue, and the next Factory2Fit consortium meeting will be hosted by UTRC-I in Cork, Ireland, in late May 2017.
